Global retail giant Toys“R”Us® debuts in India


with the first store in Bengaluru


Tablez India, franchise partner for Toys“R”Us® in India, to open 65 stores by 2025.


 

Bangalore October 7, 2017: Tablez India, a division of Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group International has, in an exclusive master franchise agreement with US company, Toys Pvt. Ltd., launched the global retail brand Toys“R”Us® in the Indian market in Bangalore, today. Toys“R”Us® operates more than 850 eponymous and Babies “R” Us stores in North America and its products are sold at 1,000 inter-stores in 37 countries.

The first Toys“R”Us® store has opened at Phoenix Market City, Bangalore and was inaugurated by five young achievers from Karnataka along with Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director, Tablez andShafeena Yusuff Ali, Chairperson, Tablez India.

In India, the brand has launched the store in two formats Toys“R”Us® which is the world's leading toy store and Babies “R”Us, a one-stop destination for baby essentials. The store is designed to be an experiential store and is spread over 20,000 sq ft.

As the world’s greatest toy store, Toys“R”Us®  offers a full range of toys for both boys and girls in the age group 3 to 11 years and will have a dedicated section for each category of toys. The store will sell everything from action figure to dolls, books, role play kits, remote-controlled cars, blasters, plush, wheel goods, bikes, ride-on etc.

The store will stock a large variety of soft toys ranging from a teddy bear to bunny to a talking lamb. Children can also get a wide range of sports toys like basketball equipment, boxing equipment and gear, youth football equipment and so on. Apart from play and sports toys, kids can find educational toys, art and craft, books, games and puzzles in their learning category section.

Babies “R”Us is the quintessential stop for new and expectant moms and young parents and offers a full range of products like diapers, food, wipes and almost everything a parent needs to nurture infants. The store will also stock baby goods like bedding, travel and safety, baby gear, infant care and also has curated apparel for babies.  

On the occasion of the launch of the store, Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director, Tablez India, said “We are delighted at setting up the first Toys“R”Us® store in Bengaluru.  India is among the fastest growing market for toys retail and is growing at a rate of 15 to 20% percent annually. We are planning to expand our stores in other parts of the country. We are aiming to have our second store in Delhi by November this year and by end of this financial year we will have two more stores in Chennai and Mumbai.”
